Twelve people are being treated for gunshot wounds following a shootout at a Mothers’ Day parade in New Orleans.

Over 100 people were participating in the residential festival, on Frenchmen Street, in the north of the city, when several shots were fired. The incident occurred around 2pm local time on Sunday.

But to the left it will be another reason for expanded background checks.

After all, if you're planning on selling a gun to a felon - after the background check you will not do it because it's against the law.

The photo of the perp doesn't quite fit the administration's demonization of legal gun owners. You know, white, patriotic, tea party mentality of less Gubmint. You know the "folks" they are auditing with the IRS.

I wonder did he get that weapon at the gun show?

Why wasn't he in jail awaiting trial for the previous charges when he committed THIS shooting?

Could it be when you commit 6 felonies and are just let back out on the street, you sort of feel like nothing will happen to you anyway?
