clearance question

Gentlemen,

Please forgive me if this is the wrong place to post my question, but I wasn't really sure where it would fit in. I'm currently recovering from a sports injury and plan on going 18x in the near future. In the interim I have an opportunity to pursue modeling (this is not a joke). My question is, would modeling negatively affect my being able to try for Special Forces? The only problem I can think of would be clearance issues. If anyone could shed some light on this, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

I think the QPs here will forgive me if I answer part of this. No employment that is both legal and moral will prevent you from getting a security clearance, providing that it also does not indicate foreign allegiance. That's from a former S-2 for a Special Forces Group.

However, telling the guys on the team that you were a male model (should you be successful) ....... Others are better able to answer that, perhaps colorfully.

As a former Bn S2 NCOIC, that has processed a lot of security clearances, I agree, it should not pose a problem if the work is legal and moral.

But remember, once published, pictures are forever. You cannot undelete the internet.

Modeling in and of itself wouldnt prevent you from trying. However the mindset of someone who desires to be a model is IMNSHO counter to what makes a good SF soldier.

If you want glamor look into something other than SF.

Modeling and Special Forces? Isn't one the antithesis of the other? Fluff vs. Substance?
