Dempsey: Combat Ban Contributed to Sexual Assault Problem

http://freebeacon.com/dempsey-combat...sault-problem/

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey said Thursday he believes the ban on women in combat positions contributed to the military’s current sexual assault problem.

“We’ve had this ongoing issue with sexual harassment, sexual assault. I believe it’s because we’ve had separate classes of military personnel–at some level,” Dempsey said at a joint press conference with Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta to formally announce the ban has been lifted.

Huh?

The man just keeps saying things that are more insane than his last utterance. This is the best the Army can do....?? We're doomed.

Damn. This is what happens when politics takes precedence over duty. Its time to finalize the PACE plan. By the time this administration and its lapdogs have finished dismantling the constitution, the military, the economy, and the moral structure of the country, there won't be anything left to resist with; the barbarians will be at the gates.

A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.

You may recall a recent movie about the siege of Stalingrad which was entitled "Enemy at the Gates." In our present situation we find that the enemy is not at the gates, but rather well within them. These goblins who blew up the skyscrapers were well inside. It is time we went looking for them at their point of origin. - Jeff Cooper

This is the sort of military leadership that the POTUS selects.

Had I been fortunate enough to get that far, I would have been on a clip earlier in the day, at my retirement. They aren't going to make him an O-11.

I guess it is ok if those you are leading loose faith in you, as long as you don't loose the faith of your leadership ala Dempsey.

I think most true leaders would rather have it the Mattis way. Those he leads will never loose faith in him, but he is getting shitcanned because the POTUS lost faith in him.

My dad always taught me that if you take care of the troops and are a good leader, that is your reward. Although what your leadership thinks of you is important, it isn't as important as your troops knowing you have their backs.
