Great find...

Thanks BMT! There is some good stuff here. I am reading two SOG Books now. Will look at these later next month.

I now have a question for all men from SOG...

I was re-reading Franklin Miller's book again last week and I came across something that I am just a little confused about.. Here is why. Miller first fought with the 101st Air Mobility as a LRRP. How did he make the transition from there to SOG and did he half to go through the training that SF does or was it one of those cases that I have heard whereby SOG would be short on men doing Recondo that they would take more men from other sources such as LRRPs?

F. Miller (CCN)

5th SFG(A) would accept personnel having a minimum of one tour in-country for assignment to one of the Command and Control detachments. If recommended by the C & C commander, CDR 5th Group could award special identifier "S" , and if otherwise qualified they would be eligible for further Special Forces assignments. These individuals performed admirably and while no attendance at the "Q" course, continued the professional SF tradition.
