Where to draw the line.

Not sure what to think from the LEO's perspective.
These are hard split-second decisions to be made with no guarantees as to the outcome.

Don't understand why the family is pressing the issue further.
Just be glad that the car was successfully stopped and the child will be ok.

It doesn't make sense to sue over something that might have happened.
Something very bad almost happened, but didn't.

My oldest child was run over by a local cop in a crosswalk.
It destroyed his bike, but he was fine.

They still gave him a ride down the street in the ambulance, just to be sure.
Billed me $900 for the ride.

I was just happy that he was ok.
Reassured the chief that I wasn't going to "lawyer up" and file a suit.

Wished the best to the officer involved; accidents happen.
Accepted a check for the replacement cost of the bicycle; let the city and insurance company argue about the ambulance bill.

Society is way too litigious.
We should cut the "Champions Of the People" (cops) some slack in these circumstances and let them deal with it internally.

You are to be commended. The instinct to sue is largely parasitic. And disgusting.

The family wants to sue the police?

God forbid the family looks at the situation and thinks, "My son's an idiot for speeding with his 3 year old son in the drivers seat and attempting to ram Police officers."

I'm sure the video will reveal everything.

What's with the shot-group into the trunk, next to the fuel door?

I would guess someone with a shotgun and buckshot was shooting at or near the rear tire.
