But it's interesting how Maher approached this, and how it contrasts with others that have questioned Obama's religious beliefs. Before, it was surmised that Obama was a Muslim. The obvious answer from his camp was "no, he's Christian." The answer was assumed to be on either side the two extremes.

Although Maher said he didn't think Obama was a Christian, he never argued that Obama was a Muslim either. Why would this create a different perception? Could it be that Obama not being a Christian (but being something else other than a Muslim) is not a big a deal as it would be if Obama was found to be Muslim? Could the Obama administration use this particular tactic to get people to lay off of his faith preference?

This would be a tremendous way to put this issue to rest for him as reelection time approaches.

Obama is a Chameleon, he changes color as his agenda or surroundings require.

No! Obama is a politician. Wait- I repeat what you said...

On the topic of us being "cowards"- it reminded me of a conversation in Kabul recently between 5 officers prior to a meeting:

"You know- if this was a movie set in a galaxy 'far far away', the crowd would be cheering on the poor, outgunned rebels and booing the imperial stormtroopers in their tie-fighters and unmanned drones raining death down from above."
"That's bullshit. We're fighting a bunch of women beaters and boy rapists. They deserve nothing less than to be frozen in carbonite and their dicks knocked off."
"They don't fight fair. Fuck 'em."
"What? Are you saying that IEDs, suicide vests, and civilian shields isn't fair- but overwhelming firepower from the air, vast technological superiority, an over 10 to 1 numbers advantage, and MRAPs ARE fair?"
"Okay- let's get this meeting started. Remember- the reason we're here is to go over the new FORCEPRO policy."
"Stormtroopers definitely didn't have FORCEPRO."
"Yes they did- don't you remember when they were looking for the two robots in the first movie? They could have wacked everyone in that town until they found them, but they didn't. Darth Vader had some fucked up ROE on those guys. He even told them if they came across a mullah to just repeat whatever he said!"
"Why are we developing new FORCEPRO again?"
"Because NATO is going to pull out if we lose any more non-combat troops."
"The stormtroopers didn't have NATO. THAT was the difference."

Out of all the people I hate. Maher is the worst. His elitist attitude and disdain for this country make me sick. I would love to beat his ass. He was running his mouth on Leno the other night. He said Gun ownership is the same as being addicted to Drugs. Even the audience was like WTF over.

Dusty, this isn't what I hope he does. Not at all, sir. I can just see this as being a way for Obama to distance himself from the Muslim issue by saying "I'm neither Christian *nor* Muslim. I'm secular-humanist (or insert name of religion here)."

When you're damned if you do or damned if you don't, the only way to keep from being damned at all is to make another way.

I understand. My point is that the questions about him haven't been definitely answered after more than two years, so they probably won't before 2012.
