Tough Mudder

http://toughmudder.com/

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRqbkHNckIc (teammate during a training/conditioning session)

On May 2, 2010 my team is competing in what is billed as the , "Toughest one day race on the planet," which is likely a marketing tactic to be sure. The Mudder is essentially a 7 mile obstacle course up and down Bear Creek Mtn ski resort (near Allentown, Pennsylvania) in which 5,000 athletes will have to negotiate 19 nasty obstacles including water, ice and fire. A competive team will finish in about 2.5 hours. One team is a "composite ODA" who have pledged to run the race carrying 55 lbs of bricks in new rucks they are T&Eing. As long as they keep those rucks on my team should beat them..

More to the point is that the race proceeds will benefit the outstanding charity : Wounded Warrior Project. The Mudder organization has set a goal of raising $100,000 before race day. To that end my 6/7 man team has raised more $1,500 and counting. PM me if you are intested in donated $25 or more and I will send you a link to facilitate that.

The Tough Mudder does not take itself too seriously and all sorts of athletes will be participating. Competing will be professional triathletes to regular joes and everything inbetween. After the race will be a BBQ and Spring Festival type party for the athletes and spectators. Please consider donating and I will be posting picture from my hospital bed after the race.

If I'm still in Miami at the time I'm going to try and do it.
Looks like some good fun in the mud and were already talking about making a team with some of the guys at my crossfit gym that I attend.
This is the first race I have seen where it is easy to get really hurt which makes it kinda cool and a definite challenge.
Races like these are great because they punish the specialist, IE the Runner or the Meathead will have allot of trouble.

The Warrior Dash is very similar, though it doesn't have the benefit for WWF.

It does have a few more dates and locations though.

Sadly no, as I was supposed to be at a school. I'll be shooting for next year's PA event: http://www.warriordash.com/register2...nnsylvania.php

I'm running WD next Sunday. Spending the weekend in Lancaster, PA.

I think my wave starts at 1100.
