Kokoro Combatives Rafael Conde

Sniff, sniff, I smell something...... funny, my last job in Special Forces was working at SF Command and one of my duties was silly "counter-terrorism" related stuff. You know it's crazy I've never heard of Rafael Conde and from his website he sure knows us......

Hey Rafael, what exactly is the "Executive Defense Agency"????

And how does one instruct "counter-terrorism tactics" with no formal counter-terrorism training?

Chief Tactical Training Instructor, Kokoro Combatives

Shortly after the Gulf War, Conde was recruited by a British Private Military Contractor (PMC) working with the U.S. Department of Defense. He entered a specialized program, training with British Special Air Service (SAS), U.S. Navy SEALs and U.S. Army Green Berets. The training included Counter Terrorist Tactics, CQB, Waterborne Operations, Tactical Firearms and Force Protection. Conde was promoted to Chief Agent for the South America Region. His team's job consisted of intelligence gathering in support of "Operation Centra Spike" and high risk protection in Colombia, Brazil, Bolivia and Honduras. As a team leader he led three classified high risk/high profile protective operations in South America. Two of the operations were inside the jungles of Colombia and Brazil. Conde was then assigned to the instructor cadre specializing in CQB, Hand to Hand Combat and Tactical Firearms. At that time he also introduced tactical training to several armored truck transport companies in the U.S., South America and Canada. Among over one hundred certifications and commendations, Conde is also certified as a Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor and a Law Enforcement Defensive Tactics Instructor. His articles have been published world wide. Conde is recognized as an expert in the use of firearms, hand to hand combat, edge weapons and domestic terrorism. He has testified as an expert witness in state and federal court. Conde is currently a decorated LE Agent and S.W.A.T. operator engaged in the battle against narcotics and narco trafficking. He is cross designated with (ICE) U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement Blue Lightning Task Force. Daily he is called upon to use his training, skills and mindset. Conde is also the founder of CombatAiki Concepts.

I've taught my wife and sons to shoot and a few other things - guess they can start their own companies some day and claim they, too, were "trained by Special Forces" or "trained with Special Forces."

Would this qualify as a trained operator, or just one starting out?

80PAX

I guess the 82nd guys in the 80PAX class with me can claim they "Trained with Special Forces in defensive driving techniques".

But at least the 82nd guys were active duty and good troops.

Special Operations Unit Code Name Group *4

LOLOLOLOLOLOL you know he's been reading/playing Tom Clancy's "Rainbow-Six".

I want to know more about the "Human Rescue" and "Counter Kidnapping" and "extreme high risk" operations!!!!!

Special Operations Unit Code Name Group *4 is almost at my "ultra-extreme very very high risk" operational ability.

But TS......

Doesn't both being Black belts in multiple martial arts venues, certified life guard, count as active duty? Maybe while patroling the hostile coastlines, somewhere off the coast of Destin, FL, they observed some SEAL Teams, and assisted them in foraging for food, or beverages. Who knows, maybe they saved their lives...

Ummm...KFR?!? Isn't that what Abu Sayaaf Group is notorious for...so that would make...Kokonuts (or whatever the organization is) a "terrorist" organization?

FWIW Jbour13 - US style (e.g. for the masses) martial arts uses the colored belt rankings. Kung (gung) fu uses colored sashes (perhaps he used "belt" to denote sash). I would say maybe he meant silat (vice Siriat) but the "R" is a few keys away from the "L". Silat (or penjak silat) is a Indonesian form of fighting known for their use of bladed weapons - with a lot of Indonesian and Dutch ancestry instructors.

chin na - is a form of Chinese grappling which focuses on takedowns and joint locks (think small circle jiujitsu / dumog / acupressure)
iaido - is the path / way of drawing the sword (usually associated with kendo / aikido)
gung fu / kali / and aikido I think most know - but just to point out ... juDo is a "sport" ... a way of living, a philosophy...juJutsu is not. In the words of the founder of JuDo in the late 19th century (
Quote:
Jigaro Kano, as quoted by Gunji Koizumi in the Budokwai Bulletin (April 1947):
I have been asked by people of various sections as to the wisdom and possibility of Judo being introduced with other games and sports at the Olympic Games. My view on the matter, at present, is rather passive. If it be the desire of other member countries, I have no objection. But I do not feel inclined to take any initiative. For one thing, Judo in reality is not a mere sport or game. I regard it as a principle of life, art and science. In fact, it is a means for personal cultural attainment. Only one of the forms of Judo training, so-called randori or free practice can be classed as a form of sport. Certainly, to some extent, the same may be said of boxing and fencing, but today they are practiced and conducted as sports. Then the Olympic Games are so strongly flavored with nationalism that it is possible to be influenced by it and to develop "Contest Judo", a retrograde form as ju-jitsu was before the Kodokan was founded.
That being said, I think juDo (or any 'martial' art e.g karate, muay thai, boxing, fencing, catch-as-catch can, etc) is good for developing young men and women.

Kokoro = 'heart' in Japanese ... it is also the name of a restaurant in Colorado and a 1914 novel by Soseki Natsume ...
