And you know if his name wasn't Michael Vick and he couldn't throw 'Da Ball' and if the NFL couldn't make a small fortune on Vick he would be serving a much longer sentence.
Yeah, Vick is a piece of shit, but the NFL is a much larger pile of shit for allowing him back in.

Maybe the Eagles will do a better job of rehabbing MV than they did with TO - but forgive me if I sound sceptical.

I to blame the NFL for not cracking down on all the thugs that play for them.
Add to that Stalworth of the Cleavland Brown's just getting thirty days after being convicted of vehicle manslaughter while drunk. The NF L's big punishment was suspension for one season. If anything this will prolong his carreer.
Wonder what my punishment would be if I got drunk right now, took my truck for a drive and ran someone over.

I know a guy who went out drinking with his uncle - single vehicle wreck in which his uncle was killed but he survived - he's doing 7 years in prison with no consideration for any early release. But this is Texas.

A local kid I know, he hit a pedestrian with his car, while intoxicated, left the scene of the accident and left a person dieing. The pedestrian who's leg was severed 'might' have survived had the boy stopped and called 911.
Thanks to Mommy and Daddy's money and civic ties he served a 120 day sentence.
Read about it on Goggle:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&channel=s&rls=org.mozilla:en-US fficial&hs=T91&ei=KrCFStbUMZTOsQOo2MibBw&sa=X& oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=curtis+mertensm eyer&spell=1
Just goes to show that money talks when it comes to sentences and time served.

Vick has never been a team player; this matchup with McNabb will be interesting to follow. Vick also has a rep as a "coach killer".
IMHO, the NFL should wake up to the fact that they are supplying some thugs with tons of money. This money supports a life style that often runs counter to good of society. The large sum of money is aslo used to "buy " the kind of leagle teams that reduces fines and jail time, if any. I have trouble seeing how any of this is good for the NFL.
Mr Vick should spend the next five years mucking out horse stalls, and cleanimng dog crap from the streets of Atlanta. He should not be representing the NFL as a professional athlete.
My $.02.

I also question the NFL's decision to let him back in. I think this sends a bad message to all. They should ban him like baseball did to Pete Rose. it would get their attention and people would think twice about this type of behavior.
Just my 2 cents

I had hoped Vic was being sarcastic about Vick. Perhaps not.
I've given up on the NFL, and not just because I have lived in Arizona with the pathetic Cardinals all these years. Vick is the tip of a very rotten iceberg (I know, bad analogy). We have Matt Leinart here - paid millions to carry a clipboard and not shave, while backing up a former grocery store stock clerk who was originally deemed not good enough for the NFL. Prior to last season, Leinart spent his time "entertaining" 19 year olds in bikinis with a hot tub and a beer bong! What a guy.
I'd rather watch Pop Warner!

I gave up on the Pro games period since the players started receiving so much money that the average dad can't take a family of four to the game more than once in a lifetime. The players now worry about getting hurt more than the game and act as if the world owes them something.
No, Vic needs to be put in a cage with a lion and see how it is to be torn apart for sport.
I have no use for him nor any of the primadonnas that play football, baseball or basketball and feel they can spit on refs, kick photographers, or break the law with impunity.
Screw them.
Vic, I really hope you were being sarcastic because, if you were not and you are truely glad the jerk is back playing football, then you will find that you are probably in need of a recheck of head space and timing.

Very well said!!!
I was raised on college ball for this very reason, and now as an adult, I understand the principle behind it.
Have also read that those who would beat innocent puppies, would also beat....

Another example of how morally bankrupt the entertainment industry is. Glad to see that my peers/associates agree.

A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.
