Val Kilmer's personal opinion on Vietnam Vets

More stereotypical Bovine Scatology from the left.

Another to put on the list of actors whose movies you don't go to...

Here Weird Val's talking about a run for governor of New Mexico - http://newmexicoindependent.com/1592...-guv-run-again

A portion of the article at the link above (taken from a 2005 Esquire interview):
[Klosterman]: You mean you think you literally had the same experience as Doc Holliday?

Kilmer: Oh, sure. It’s not like I believed that I shot somebody, but I absolutely know what it feels like to pull the trigger and take someone’s life.

[Klosterman:] You understand how it feels to shoot someone as much as a person who has actually committed a murder?

[Kilmer] I understand it more. It’s an actor’s job. A guy who’s lived through the horror of Vietnam has not spent his life preparing his mind for it. He’s some punk. Most guys were borderline criminal or poor, and that’s why they got sent to Vietnam. It was all the poor, wretched kids who got beat up by their dads, guys who didn’t get on the football team, couldn’t finagle a scholarship. They didn’t have the emotional equipment to handle that experience. But this is what an actor trains to do. I can more effectively represent that kid in Vietnam than a guy who was there.

Val Kilmer should read more and speak less, he's not reading his "stickies". What a pussbag!

It's sickening how ignorant some people are.

Once upon a time in the early 1990's Kilmer walked off a radio interview in Los Angeles because the radio hosts dared to ask him questions which were not on the pre-approved list. Every since I heard that little tantrum, I have no interest in anything he says or does.

Just curious if he knows that political reports won't abide by a list of pre-approved questions even for the mighty Val

Great point!

Very disappointed in Val. You would think it would only take one of the many thousands of books on Vietnam to clue Val into reality. Guess Val is going to continue to rely on holly wood movies that always seem to protray our guys trying to kill each other. Can't wait for someone like Mel Gibson to step up and make Band Of Brothers 2 (Vietnam SOG, with guys singing old blue with Martha Ray and all. The story needs to be made into a mini series. 2 hour movie won't do it justice. Sad because Val could have played Jerry "Mad Dog" Shiver.

I understand John was awarded the Silver Star for calling in an air strike on top of what was left of his recon team (RT Idaho) in the Ashau Valley. Then he provided first aid to his men saving several of them. I was honored to read his story and at least everyone in my family knows his service and the fact he would never discuss actions that day. He was old school!
