Funeral service was covered on the first page of the Staunton, Va. paper The News Leader; Sat May, 17. Short Bio with two color photos of service. Very nice coverage for a fallen hero!

I was cleaning out a box from my attic this morning and ran across a photo I took of Donnie in ANCOC in 96. It brought back a lot of memories...I could talk all day about Donnie. What a guy. Would it be appropriate for me to post the photo here?
Rest in peace Donnie. Miss you brother. Thanks for everything.

Of course.

A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.

This is my third try to post this. *Shrug
Donnie was in my small group in ANCOC/O&I and was my partner for ID photos. He made his own nameplate for the photo. Anyone who knew Donnie will get a kick out of it.
I was thinking about him today and remembering I once had the pleasure of hearing Donnie's philosophy of what was wrong with SF and how to fix it while guarding pallets. It was interesting and mostly right I think. Anyway... Donnie definitely left a mark on many.
*Please photo work this time *&*&%$#%$$#%$#&*!!!
