Shelton Endorses Clinton
Why does this not surprise me about this guy?

Did no one tell him that "None of the Above" was an option?

Must be looking for a patronage position.

Retired MacDill commander endorses Clinton

Ret. General Hugh Shelton endorsed Hillary Clinton for president, Saturday, March 1, 2008.

TAMPA - News of a big endorsement with Tampa ties comes around for Hillary Clinton Saturday.

Retired General Hugh Shelton is putting his weight behind Clinton.

He served as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under Presidents George H.W. Bush, and Bill Clinton.

He also led the U.S. Special Operations Command at MacDill Air Force Base, from February of 1996 to September of 1997.

Shelton says that he believes Clinton is more prepared than Barack Obama to be commander in chief.

Politically speaking this is the worst of both worlds. He commits himself to a candidate whose prospects are hanging by a thread and he makes his move too late to make a difference anyway. Not a smart move, whatever your politics.

During a conference call with the Clinton campaign Sunday, moderated by Clinton's National Security Director Lee Feinstein (with Howard Wolfson), flag officer after flag officer offered their unqualified endorsements of Hillary Clinton for Commander-in-Chief. It was one testimony after another from these fine career military men and women who know first hand what it takes to be the boss.

I always thought that general officers (active or retired) should refrain from making politcal comments. Unless of course they are actually running for an office.

Something about generals getting involved in politics..........just seems for lack of a better word....distastful.

OTOH whom a GO recommends has no impact upon my politcal choice.

The above is a list of what I call "anti-warriors", Klintonistas, and pseudo-intellectuals.

I do not see anyone on that list that I would want to follow to the mess hall, much less combat.

Most of them have done more to damage and degrade the military than the enemy did.

Virtually all would reappear in some official patronage capacity should Hillary somehow get elected.

The future SecDef, SecState, SecArmy, SecNavy, and several future ambassadors are among those listed for the price of supporting the UberBitch.

If Judas sold out Jesus Christ for 30 denari, the above would sell him for 29 or less. Their honor and their support is for sale to the highest bidder, for a variety of reasons.
