Help identifying weapon please

A good friend of mine posted this photo on his blog journaling his fight against cancer. The joke being that his new chemo device (the black bag) facilitates his concealed carry permit. Anyway the game is that we (the friends and family who read the blog) have to now identify the weapon.

Help?

And FWIW he's a former Ranger, but don't hold it against him - it's all the same community right?

Got a better (bigger) picture?

From the "small" pic it looks like some sort of Makarov.

Looks like a Makarov to me, but it is a small photo.

It could also be the chinese version Takarov. I tried with Adobe photoshop CS2 to enlarge and the picture is to grainy.

I thought Takarov until I looked closely at the trigger...

I don't have a better picture, he posted them small on his blog. I'll go with what you suggested. He'll be impressed that I have any kind of idea at all. When he coughs up the answer, I'll let you know.

Identify weapon

It looks like a CZ-82 or a CZ-83. The CZ-82 is also known as a VZ-82.

Already confirmed by the owner as a Makarov earlier in this thread.

Weapon ID

Shar,

Not a good photo (BFD) but that would be some flavor of a Makarov.
