Team Pack out and Individual Gear SOP
I am just looking at whats out there and trying to learn from everyones experiences. I am looking to put together a SOP for my team and all the gear list I find are OEF/OIF orientated. This is for a JCET. I know there are a lot of details needed to make a through gear list, but I am looking for a typical load out & individual gear list. I would appreciate all the help I can get on this matter. Thanks .

Look at your mission, the climate, possible support you'll recieve in country, or items you can buy on the ecomomy and bring everything else you think you might need. Better to have it then wish you had it.

Ditto to everything Crispy said.
But will add: You have to support the mission but you also have to make sure your training element, you guys, is/are supported.
You can get a light vehicle bridge built for a 50 pound sack of rice in some parts of the world but it takes forever for the locals to cut down a hard wood tree with hand hatchets. By day three the 18Cs were wishing for a chain saw.
Look at where you will be based. Fixed site or in the bush? Power? Reliable? Black out periods? Need to bring your own? How much will you need? 5 kw or 10 kw?
So you need to be able to set up house and then train the locals.

Might be easier if you told us how you were organized and equipped, if it is not sensitive info. What do you have to pick from?
First, METT-TC analysis.
Mission? Identified deficiencies from the site survey? Attachments? Assigned equiment? OPFUNDs? Availability of local purchase? Lift assets/load limitations?
You might also do some searching here, since this is a fairly common question.
We do not know your TDA, or how you operate. You may be SOF, but are not SF, regardless of what you may have been told.

Thanks everyone for the replies so far... Heres what we got...
We will be training in the bush with some paramilitary forces focusing on just basic infantry skills. We are taking two Yamaha generators (however alot of the teams have had some issues with these) for power. We will be staying in steel uni-huts for living quarters and one large one for a COC. There is also a pavalion area for classes. There is no hardwire yet, however I have bought all the necessary materials to wire the huts/classroom/COC with outlets and lights. I am planning on 1 outlet and light per living quarters (6 total) and 3 outlets and lights in both the COC and classroom.
I am planning on putting the living quarters on 1 15 amp circuit and then the COC and classroom both on seperate 15 amp circuits for a total of 3 circuits.
In the COC I want to be able to power 2 tough books, promixa, coffee maker, phone charger and the Comm gear.
Classroom will run a 2 lights, a promixa and a tough book. We are going to do most of our classes with powerpoint (printed flip charts are our backup).
Living quarters are going to have 1 outlet and 1 light per so that we can charger our cellphones at night.
We don't have any attachments.
We have about $30,000 for our OPFUND in country and also a OPFUND of $23,000 for mission prep for OPRs and etc. Which a lot of the $23,000 is already spent.
As far as local purchase what some of the teams who have gone to this location have done is set up a contractor that basically provides them with whatever they request. I see the benefits in that but I don't really want to go that route because I want to be able to get out and talk to the locals, get to know the merchants personally, build rapport and get to know the area and people.
Our team set-up is a lot like a ODAs. We have a Maj for OIC, Capt. for AOIC, GySgt for a TM Sgt, 1 Navy Corpsman & and 1 Marine that is training in the Medical field, 2 Comm Sgts, 2 Wpns Sgts, Suppose to have 2 Eng Sgts, however I am the only one on the Team (hardly any team at MSOAG is TO). As far as the Intel side of the house, the AOIC is primarily responsible and I am also helping with that. After our first mission we are sending guys to the secret squire program to get level 2.
I hope that helps a little on describing my situation. I am trying to soak up as much information as I can so thank you for all your replies.

Coffee Pot? Better not be one of those wimpy 12 cup pots or Gunny will have your butt for breakfast. Get one of those 40 cup steel mega perk pots. Power draw is not that much more. Mine made many a trip and the guys knew where to find a hot cup of coffee.
Get with the others and see what they require for their classes, see what the command group requires, double check house keeping requirements, add in personal gear and then your unit SOP required gear.
You have to figure what you need to do the mission and then how to handle it. Weapons, ammo, demo supplies, if you take them will all have to be stored and secured if you're not using them.
Just relax, sit down with everybody, make lists, check the lists, find duplications, get it together and drive on.
Edited to add: A 12 cup pot fills 4 canteen cups 2/3s full and has a teacup's worth of coffee left in the pot. Keep Gunny and the CO happy, get a bigger pot.

Shawn,
The Marines have their own niche and attempting to be SF is not in the picture!!
If you want to be SF, just cut to the chase and go for an 18 Slot!!
Take care
Martin
