Wait... What?
Not only has this ONLY been true since mid-terms, but this is also the President who promised to 'reach out', 'cross the aisle', 'put our party differences aside', etc... He surely had no 'stymiing' for the first two years when he managed somehow to push through bailout(s) and health care reforms. Sigh. Must be Bush's fault that all this turmoil in the Middle East is occurring in the midst of poor Obamas riegn.

Not really a surprise given his proclivity to vote present in some of his previous positions.

He sat in a nut's church for years and was either asleep, deaf, stupid or complicit...actually, he voted present.

Is there anything in his background (even over the past two years in office) to suggest that he is equipped to lead or make a truly tough decision...and I don't mean an election campaign?

IMO, this guy is an affirmative action product that has brought community organizing to its apex. He's had his 15 minutes - time for the adults to make the difficult decisions.

He has all the makings of a one term president. As unpopular as W was in 2008 he had a leg up on McCain, and I think his campaign was run on lofty rhetoric and pixie dust. I'm not so sure that his next campaign is going to go as well. His lack of experience helped him in '08 because he didn't have to run against his own record, or justify what he had done or failed to do. There is very little that he can point to that he has accomplished, and his GOP challenger will rightly point out that things have gone steadily downhill during his term.
