On the 25th, were near Mount Yale and hike from 9,500 to 11,500 and saw nothing at all. No people, no tracks, no elk. At that time there was maybe 6 inches of snow @ 11,000 feet. Consider us elk huntng amateurs.

If you strike out, come with me and visit the folks in Wyoming, they have more elk than any rancher should have to feed. The last one I shot was standing in the corral with the horses. I use a .357 Mag under her chin, she fell two feet from the John Deere backhoe. We hung her in the barn for the night, next day we had her cut up, wrapped in butcher paper, stamped "Angus Beef, a fine product of Wyoming".
My father get's an elk every year,...with the front of his truck.
Luckily, he has a son who fabricated a heavy steel bumper.

Wet Dog,
Nice to see you've solved one of the major problems in elk hunting and that is dropping your animal where you can get it out.

A friend of mine learned that the moose in the lake is not a good target...
At least he was only 10ft from the edge of the lake and easier to get a rope on him.
And no, he still hasn't heard the end of that.

Well, not officially, but I have had snow in my yard since October and I am still hoping to get my sprinklers blown out.

Well it is the 6th of Dec., about time we got some cooler days. I'm still only wearing a light wool Filson shirt. As for me, I hope it snow 20' in the mountains this winter.
Anyone up at Lake Dillon, (Silverthorne), what's the level?

Have a heart guys... I mean really...
All I want to see is some nice deep snow and some elevation gain. I live in coastal NC and I am moving to FL...
It really hurts you guys... It hurts very deep inside...

It was supposed to start snowing here Saturday night. It just started about 20 minutes ago. My wife is leaving for a family reunion in Orlando for a week on Friday. She can have it.

The reunion or the weather? Weather in here in St Pete all week is supposed to be low to mid 70's, partly sunny. Interior probalby mid to upper 70's sunny.
