Nice. Did you buy the Cerakote direct from NIC? I wanted to try that stuff, but given the cost, I thought I should practice with Gunkote and buy an air compressor and spray gun first. I just did another stripped AR lower and pistol slide using the rest of my black Gunkote, and while the results look fine, the rattle can is just laying it on too thick.

Yes NIC will sell it commercially. It's actually easy to apply. The smallest they sell it is in one quart sizes but as long as you keep it in a cool place and sealed it has a two year shelf life. There is no baking required. I also purchased their spray gun but the EOTEC below was done with a cheap $20 Air Brush I had sitting around the house.

Thanks, K, looks good. I'll have to give it a try - no baking would be a good thing. I was thinking of starting with a cheap airbrush instead of buying a high-zoot HVLP gun. That way, if the nozzle clogs up or I don't like the results, I can just pick up another one.

On a recent vacation, I got a fake/temporary airbrushed tattoo. As the gal was spraying it on with a Badger airbrush, all I could think of was, "That's what I need to use to spray my guns!"

Here's a pic of the finished product. The symbol purportedly means "passion" (since I am a Scorpion ). My apologies for posting an off-topic pic, given that there are no "guns" in sight. It's been awhile since I've hit the weight room on a regular basis!

The good thing about the Spray Gun from NIC is that the cup is a perfect for weapon size painting. The bigger spray guns will wast to much Cerakote . I paid $39. You have to call them first to set up an online account.

Yikes, I think the SGM and Doc are on to something - I see a knee. Another tourist separated from his American dollars. At least it rubbed off within a couple of days. The thing is, I still have a tan line of that image!

Who will not be wearing his tank tops and cut-off t-shirts in public for a couple of weeks.

My, my - that's nice. Seems a shame it has to be semi though.

I completely agree, it is a WWII MG42. A semi is a better choice than the Federal Holiday program for have a unlicensed FA. The other choice was to keep it as a dummy. That would have been a worser choice.
