How is the Muzzle Flash on the shorty Barrel, from the shooters point of view? I never shot one, but some guys used our shoot house one time who had them. The Flash extended pretty far forward. Couldn't tell how it effected them.

Depends on the ammo.
Surprisingly, M193 Ball is among the worst.

I haven't shot it at an indoor range or in low-light, but I'm pretty certain that it would be slightly brighter than 14.5" barrel. However, I am waiting on my AAC M4-2000 Mod 7 to arrive and that should reduce the flash signature by a tad.
Even without the can on the YHM Phantom FH should reduce the fireball to a level that is at least similar to a 14.5" barrel.

Looks good! Now you'll have to start buying ammo in bulk and flying to classes...

XD9
Back at Christmas, I surprised myself with a Springfield Arms XD 40. After not shooting for 20 years, I thought it was a nice way to get back into things. After shooting 400 rounds through it (40S&W 180gr FMJ) I started having feed problems. I tried 5 different magazines and several different brands of ammo to no avail; I would get missfeeds/no feeds randomly. I had reported it to the dealer as soon as it started happening and left it with their gunsmith for evaluation. They couldn't find the problem. (There is disscussion on the net about this problem). Anyway, they ended up taking it back after I raised hell.
So instead of paying the restocking fee I purchased a used XD9 for $300. I've been shooting it for a couple months now and wonder why I didn't get the XD9 in the first place.
So far I've run over 750 rounds through it with no malfunctions. All it needs now is new sites.
Edited for stupidity

Thought I'd share my pics. I'd also like to thank all the QP's that have answered all my questions and just listened.
The first one is a Rock River Arms M-4 with an Aimpoint CompML3 2MOA and a M900 SureFire Foregrip. Some time ago I inquired about TS's ARMS SIR railing system and he suggested I try SureFire's rail. A friend had one and I tried it and I opted for the ARMS instead.
The second is my pride and joy. SpringField Armory's M1A. I've done nothing special to it as its a nail driver on it's own.
Thirdly is my Walther P99 .40cal. I like the fact that it's simple to maintain and operate. It's abit small for my hands as I have a gorilla grip. My next pistol will be a USP.
Thought's? Comments?

Based on your report, it could be that you were using 9mm ammo in a .40 S&W weapon, but that is just my guess.

That's what I get when I don't think. I just looked at the box on my desk and wrote it down. Corrected above.

I figured that, but it was too easy to pass up.
