Sen. Clinton; Lack of Body Armor 'Unforgivable'
http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/print?id=1489733
Evidently the two "two for one administrations" have been forgotten by her, or she'd remember the armor and AC130's request refused during Somalia. For that matter that she and her husband had eight years themselves to upgrade body armor and vehicles.

Her posturing is not worth commenting on.
Oh, shit, I just did.

If I thought she (or her husband) truly cared I might be impressed.
Not really, as has been said before it's all posturing.

Hopefully her opponents will be smart enough to bring that up once the campaign starts.

This is just another step in her long prepared and thought out strategy to make her look more centrist. It is easy to see if you look for it, but will the swing voters see her for what she is?

This from the same lady who did not want military uniforms in the White House.

Two organizations come to mind; the SOWF and the ROTC Association.

I believe the Clinton administration policy was that you don't need body armor if you run away fast enough (and you can run faster without it).

Funny. When I saw the article I focused on the body armor bit rather than who said it. It has been bandied about since the first day of OIF.
The troops went into OIF with the best that was available at THAT TIME. As for the armor itself, I haven't heard many complaints from the troops other than trying to put on 40 lbs of ceramics, in 100+ degree weather and running up and down the scenic mountains of the area. Some of the critics ought to try it. We had ceramic armored vests in RVN and used them for seat cushions.

I cut the plates out of mine, way to D&^% heavy and hot. I liked the padded shoulders, kept the pack straps from cutting into my shoulders.
I heard there is a new plate, a blend of aluminum and ?? suppose to be lighter.
Personally most of this talk is to add to the anti USA/Military banter in the media. Clintoon had 8 years to improve our military but only deminished our military capabilites to the joy of our enemies.

The Surgeon General is finding out that more soldiers are dieing from head injuries than any other time in history. That’s because soldiers that use to die from torso wounds are now surviving.
