Commander In Chief

Any of you guys seen this tv show?

I am thinking it is propaganda to prepare the US public for Shrillary in '08.

I have nothing against the possibility of a woman being our president but absolutely cannot stomach the way in which the show is written or played for exactly the reason your asking NDD.

Saw the previews, don't watch it because of the politics of the cast and crew.

Concur with your thoughts.

I refuse to watch for those same reasons.

Interestingly, I did hear a radio interview with Gena Davis. She was at the White House before the show began for some event, (CRS) and met President Bush. She stated she asked him if he heard she'd be playing the president on the show, he laughed and said something to the effect of "stick around a bit and get a feel for the place" (meaning the White House) She also said he was very gracious...

Still won't watch it.

Heard about it. Won't watch it, or the West Wing.

Course, I don't watch many TV Shows. Documentaries are about the only thing I watch on cable, er, Direct TV.

The West Wing is a bloody good show. At the end of the day what does it matter what the actor's politics are?

Politics comes and goes.

Becasue we live here.

It's like viewing a made for TV movie about your own family that was written by the "Uncle Fred" who is a jerk and most of the family hates. While you recognize the characters nothing is even close to the truth.

Of course the family members who suck up to "Fred" just love the show.

I think I made it through about 2 minutes of both shows.

Just finished the Cresent and the Cross. They didn't go into too much detail in just how the Muslims got the Holy Land in the first place. Saladin chopping off the heads of the prisoners after the battle of Hattin was OK but King Richard doing it was terrible. Oh, well. Another Muslim good, Western World bad hit piece.

Agree. It's nice to have free political advertisement years in advance of the rest of the challengers.

Because the actors and writers use the shows to promote a very specific type of politics and end up training all those who only learn about politics while watching tv, and this is only the newscasts. It gets much worse with the "entertainment" shows about politics.

Shall we ban him?

Bloody good show? If you like "left" wing politics I guess.

Try the history channel.

It would not matter if it was an even playing field. The major media and Hollywood represent the extreme left. Unfortunately there are those who form their opinions based on the biased reporting of the left and the sublime (and some times not so subliminal) messages buried in the scripts of the shows mentioned here. These shows have an agenda and it is not for entertainment.

Where did you go John Wayne and Jimmy Stewart?

Having said that, I am not paranoid.

Heard, do not know for sure, that two advisers to the show are off Hillary's staff.

Also hate the BS of both the West Wing AND CinC is the habit of hollywood of using far left activists as right wing charactors. They then play them so far right and evil to be the charactures that the libs believe them to be. Can you just see Alan Alda and that piece of shit Donald Sutherland as right wingers?

West Wing SUCKS as does Commander and Chief. Unfortunately too many people believe that is the true values of the represetned charactors.

Remember, just because you are paranoid does not mean that there AREN'T people out there to get you.

My two cents.

I gave up on West Wing after a few episodes. Couldn't stand the way they trotted out characters to represent "ideas." Like this episode we'll have idea A vs. idea B. and wrap all up neat and cozy in 47 minutes. Also found the cutesy dialogue annoying.... guess it was supposed to be witty and fresh. Not too worried about it polluting minds though-- I mean if you go to a T.V. series to get your political education, you're a lost cause to begin with.

Yeah, but they still get a vote, just like the vast underclass with their hands out to the government for the public dole their entire lives.
