Who, what, how etc. an off shoot of WMD thread.

It was asked what the POTUS and all of his men have done to protect us from attacks.

Folks: the most effective counter-intelligence and counter-terrorism campaigns are covert. If you read or hear about them they have been compromised. A good example, even though the London bombings occured, was the speed in which the perpretators were rounded up -- world wide. They have a good undercover net in place.

We used to but Jimmy Carter took care of that. "Gentlemen don't spy on gentlemen." Now our intelligence is in the process of rebuilding. They also have a new enemy. Not only do they have to be wary of compromise by the emeny but by the media as well and self serving politicians. They step up to the plate with two strikes already. We should never hear of their successes as that would jeopardize future successes.

I don't know the truth of this but G. Gordon Liddy had a guest who says that the reason that prior 911 intelligence wasn't passed on was that it would compromise an even more important operation against an even more insidious Chinese operation. True or not, information like this should never be made public.

Let the spooks do their work in the ways necessary and just entertain yourselves with James Bond movies.
