MSG MANUEL "MANNY" N. MAKALENA

I was researching my family tree and found out that my cousin Manny died four years ago. Ouch.

He was stationed with 3- 10 SFGA at the same time I was with B-2-10 SFGA. You'd never guess we were cousins because he looked so Hawaiian and I look so damn white...

The lesson here my friends is to do everything you can to keep in touch with your family and loved ones.

Craig

Obit follows:

MANUEL "MANNY" N. MAKALENA, 68, of Tacoma, Wash., died May 25, 2006. Born in Honolulu. Retired U.S. Army master sergeant with 30 years of service. Survived by wife, Rita; sons, Sam, Dan, Sonny, Manuel, Harry and George; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Service 8 a.m. tomorrow at Four Chaplain Chapel, Fort Lewis. No flowers. Donations to the Franciscan Hospice House, University Place, Washington. Please send stories and photos about Manny for a book of his life. Send messages to makalenaohana @yahoo.com.
