To this day I'm extremely impressed by Doolittle's raid. The shere audacity involved in even attempting such a feat is amazing. Starting with the launch from an aircraft carrier to the ditching of the aircraft and counting on unknown elements for extraction is simply amazing. The psychological strike made against the Japanese had to be enormous, and great for Allied morale, as well.
