Tonight's Social Calendar
I think maybe I'd better go to this little panel discussion at my Lincoln Club chapter tonight. I'll be late, but I think I can get there before it's over . . .
JOHN O’NEILL
Author of “Unfit For Command”
John O’Neill served in the United States Navy from 1967 to 1971, earning two bronze stars for valor. While in the Navy, he served in Coastal Division 11 in Vietnam and took command of PCF 94, John Kerry’s Swift Boat, after Kerry’s departure. Outraged by Kerry’s anti-war slanders against his fellow veterans, O’Neill faced Kerry in a famous debate in the Dick Cavett Show in 1971 refuting Kerry’s accusations of rampant American war crimes in Vietnam. In 1974, O’Neill clerked for Justice William Rehnquist at the U.S. Supreme Court. He has been practicing law in Houston, Texas for nearly 30 years.
LT. COL. ROBERT “BUZZ” PATTERSON,
(USAF, RET.)
Author of “Reckless Disregard”
Raised in a family of conservative Democrats, Lt. Col. Patterson served his country with distinction. A senior ranking officer in the Clinton White House, Patterson is a combat veteran with five tours of duty. Lt. Col. Patterson is the author of the New York Times bestseller Dereliction of Duty. In his shocking new book, Patterson reveals the poor military leadership of President Clinton and forecasts future threats if John Kerry is elected to be our next president. Patterson—assigned to carry the “nuclear football” for President Clinton—learned first-hand of the Democrats’ reckless disregard for the American military. In his new book, he details the negligence and the abuses by both Clinton and Carter—and points out how John Kerry’s policies will put us, once again, in harm’s way.
I'll give a full report if I can get over there.

I missed most of O'Neill's speech, but it was fun. Someone asked what records Kerry is trying to hide, and he said principally his journal, which will show him to have inflicted wounds on himself and otherwise acted dishonorably.
There were about 30 protesters outside chanting the whole time. They had Kerry signs and were saying "O'Neill is a liar" and that kind of stuff. O'Neill pointed out that they have the freedom to do that because of the military.
I offered to represent the Swifties for free in any remaining battles with the Kerry campaign, provided that my partners don't prevent me from doing it, or at least to help them find free legal assistance from right-minded lawyers. He accepted!

Finally received signed copies of the books, which I ordered at the event. The publisher was sufficiently embarassed about the delay that they also sent me a signed advance copy of Newt Gingrich's new book. So I'm a happy guy.
Shots out. You know who you are.
