Gun sales hit record 16M

There is a break down by state, I'm frankly rather surprised at the state in the number 1 position.

https://247wallst.com/consumer-produ...-state-ranked/

U.S. gun sales in the first four months of 2021 surged 31% to 15,966,389. This makes it among the largest figures since sales started to be recorded in 1998.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa...

The politicians in Illinois said that all the guns that kill people in Illinois come from out of state....

Illinois politics is going to be what kicks this whole thing off. Mark my words folks.

Springfield (Chicago) has the exact same ideas politically that the coastal elites have in NYC and Cali, but do not have the “need” to exist (deep-water, all-weather ports).

When, not if, Illinois declares bankruptcy due to their issues with the public sector, unionized pensions, the Fed will bail them out. This is likely to push those free states that are already on the edge of leaving to “just say no”.

Down-state farmers are preparing for this eventuality that is coming and will be the G’s we’ve all been waiting for our entire UW lives.....

All the stores in my area have buy limits 2-5 boxes, not sure if that is per caliber or per sale. What surprises me is that while local has limitations, I could go online if I needed too and purchase without much limitation.

My surprise with Illinois is by how much they are outpacing the other states.

NICS Firearm Checks
Jan - Apr of each year

Nationally
2015 - 2019 = Floated around 9.2 m / year
2020 = 12.0 m
2021 = 15.8 m
72% increase in 2021 over 2016 - 2019 baseline

Illinois
2015 = 400,000 = 3% of population
2021 = 4,290,000 = 34% of population
Yes, I double checked those numbers.
Insane increase in NICS checks!
1076% increase in 2021 over 2015 numbers
I'd invest in any gun store in Illinois right now.

By State
2021 increase over 2016 - 2019 avg

Illinois - 399%
District of Columbia - 370%
Utah - 227%
Puerto Rico - 196%
New Jersey - 170%

Michigan - 113%
Maryland - 100%
Alabama - 95%
Rhode Island - 86%
Indiana - 80%

Idaho - 75%
Arizona - 68%
Georgia - 65%
Wyoming - 65%
Iowa - 65%

North Carolina - 62%
Wisconsin - 57%
Nevada - 55%
Montana - 54%
South Carolina - 54%

All Other States - 10-50%

California - (-7%)
Kentucky - (-18%)

You will be busy with highly motivated hordes, and you'll be well-fed to boot.

Considering that there are demonstrations by BLM and ANTIFA that have armed participants, it's useful to remember that the "Revolutionaries" are also arming.

They Are the Brown Shirts of the Democratic Party

The Federal Bureaucracies and the Military are being searched for "reactionaries" now, and cleansed.

Your on a list and have been for years if you don't already know it.

I was stationed at Scott AFB for a few years in southern Illinois. Great, salt-of-the-earth, hard working people there and all around. Pretty conservative. Like Maryland and most heavy-blue States, they are controlled by the population density of goblins in a particular county/counties.

Also, Illinois went to concealed carry a few years back. A lot of guns being bought by the hard working folks who see the goblins heading their way if the free-stuff is ever shut off. Remember, any city is only about three meals away from anarchy. Shut down the food supply and you have bedlam.

almost like ground LOC's into the cities are the dems center of gravity......hint...hint....

I believe those numbers are based on NICS checks, and do not include face to face private sales and purchases by concealed weapons carriers.

The total numbers are significantly higher, especially for concealed carry states.

I think it is just further proof that most Americans want to see more common-sense gun control measures.

Excellent point. Many first time buyers are reflected in the NICS checks, but many who've been set or got it done during the salad days are making a point to do that old fashioned exercise of commerce between 2 free persons walking the earth, face to face. (No) papers please. Always good to have a few of those.

As The Reaper said, face to face and carry permit holders aren't included in those figures. Here under the Big Sky with my carry permit they do not do a background check, your NICS # is just jotted down on the form. For those face to face deals I would suggest armslist.com, click on the classifieds for your state. I expect at some point they will shut down sites like this.

Based on the news....if they did include face to face sales, IL would still come in first...just from Chicago alone.
