A very disturbing article in the fact it blames the drug instead of the bottom-feeding scumbags that sell it. A sick socialist pattern, you bet. Blame everything except the individuals responsible.

How about instead we target the heroin dealers and give them life sentences each and every time one is caught with a dealers amount of heroin. That will reduce the heroin deaths, overdoses and our nations children throwing their lives away addicted to a drug. And yeah, I'd place meth on that list, dealers, life in prison.

This would also shrink American gangs, and terrorist nations that sell drugs to fuel terrorism & socialist governments.

And yeah, I've seen the effects first hand while volunteering as an EMT in Fayettenam back in the 80-90's.




Officials declare health emergency in Connecticut city after string of overdoses

Officials in a Connecticut city said Thursday they are experiencing a major public health crisis after more than 20 overdoes were reported, including two fatal cases.

New Haven health officials told WTNH-TV that they activated the emergency notification system to warn residents about the tainted life-threatening heroin on the streets. According to the New Haven Independent the batches of heroin were laced with fentanyl.

Officials said by Thursday night there were about 22 overdoses and two deaths reported. Police said those numbers could rise.

“I don’t ever recall a day like this ever. I don’t think we’ve had this amount in a very, very long,” assistant Fire Chief Matt Marcarelli told the paper. “We have barely enough Narcan to get throughout the night. We’re hoping it calms down. We used up almost the whole supply of Narcan in the city.”

Naloxone, also known as Narcan, is administered to someone who is overdosing on heroin to reverse its effects. The fire department was working with the Yale-New Haven Hospital and AMR ambulance in Hartford to obtain more.

Paramedics started to respond to emergency calls at around 3:30 p.m. By then, at least six people had overdoes and were unconscious within three to four blocks of each other, the Independent reported.

Firefighters found two more men passed out in a car near a baseball field about three hours later. Marcarelli said the men showed “obvious” signs of an overdose.

By 9:30 p.m., at least 15 people had overdosed on heroin and the numbers continued to rise.

Narcan is used to "save" these people. Personally I don't like the fact that tax dollars provide this Narcan. Thus prolonging the problem. One more misguided Left Wing program.

I've always thought that when it came to drug dealers arresting them was a waste of time. Just make them eat, ingest, inject etc... whatever drugs they are caught with and move on to the next.

Oh yeah I know. If you want to piss off a heroine/morphine addict in seizure or nearly comatose from ecstasy just shoot him up with Narcan. All that wasted money on drugs.

Saving some misguided teenager from death is one thing but all too often police and EMTs are prolonging the inevitable.

When youths think they can safely take drugs and call 911 when it goes south to save them. Society has created a complex problem and compounded it ten fold.

The problem is that the addicts might as well be zombies once addicted, they will never stop until someone else intervenes.

I watched a program in Europe that assisted the addicts and still went after the dealers with a vengeance. We need to do the same thing here in the USA. Kill the drug dealers, kill them all until they live in fear for their very lives.

But, because of the elite socialists we will never go after the drug dealers, how else are the socialist elites going to drug little kids and rape them? And where are they going to get the drugs to execute their plans? Roman Polanski should be dead but he's living large thanks to the socialist French.

Just relegate narcan to hospital setting and only for the very young and very old or mentally retarded (liberals not included).
