BG Khatol Muhammadzai, ANA

Anybody know her or worked around her?

Khatol Mohammadzai, the first female general in the Afghan National Army poses with U.S. service members during a recent visit to Resolute Support Headquarters in Kabul. During a meeting with female U.S. service members, Brig. Gen. Mohammadzai discussed her 27-year career in the Afghan military, the importance of leadership and the unique challenges women face in the military and society in Afghanistan. She has made more than 580 jumps as a paratrooper and currently serves in the ANA Training and Education Command.

Nope.

But I did meet with Afghan's first female provincial governor a few times.

Very sharp intellect, but behind the media spotlight and "girl power!" narrative was the same downside found most elsewhere.

I'd be guessing if the Brigadier were cunning she'd steal less and more quietly than her male peers, and leverage it into lucrative international travel/training/speaking engagements if what I've seen is anything to go by.

What I find interesting though is a 27 year career and 580 jumps in the ANA.

That implies her joining in Soviet era 1988 and serving through the chaos of the early 90's thru to Taliban era pre 9/11.

Females served post Soviet collapse?

580 jumps is interesting, if true.

ANA jump school house posting?

I hope it's all true and the Brigadier serves with honour and integrity, but I'm a bit jaded.
