Key contributors to a conservative group have received a special invitation: For $50,000, they can shoot guns and hang out this June with Robert O’Neill, the former Navy SEAL credited with killing al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.
The offer was recently made by the ForAmerica organization. Those invited have until May 10 to RSVP for an event at the Amangani Resort Hotel in Jackson Hole, Wyo. The facility offers picturesque views of the Snake River, and is on the southern tip of Grand Teton National Park. A room there can cost more than $1,000 per night.
The event is billed as “a historic weekend honoring Navy SEAL hero Robert O’Neill.” It will include shooting at a gun range run by the Jackson Hole Shooting Experience, a private company nearby.
“Our event will consist of clay, pistol and ‘machine gun fun’ competitions with Rob O’Neill,” documents for the fundraiser say.
The ForAmerica group is run by America, Inc., of Reston, Va. It was founded in 2009 by Brent Bozell, a conservative commentator who also started the Media Research Center, which provides a conservative critique of the media. It received nearly $4.9 million in contributions in 2012, and $2.5 million in 2013, according to tax documents.
A spokesman for O’Neill said the SEAL veteran continues to speak to a variety of groups, and agreed to do this event “as a favor to a friend who has been helping him out,” without elaborating.
O’Neill left the military in 2012 after hundreds of combat missions, including the SEAL Team 6 raid in Pakistan that killed bin Laden on May 2, 2011. More recently, he co-founded a charity called Your Grateful Nation devoted to helping Special Operations veterans transition out of the military.
ForAmerica did not respond to a request for comment.

costs less, she's more fun and when you're finished, there are other, more apealing attractions to look at besides elk horn archways and some worn out saddles in a bar.

Thanks for the heads up Cat. As providence would have it I have to be in Vegas in June to give my oldest and her Sgt. husband a wedding reception and feeding money to a gun sounds better than a slot machine.
