White house tells public schools to enroll illegals
The Obama administration pointedly told American public schools on Thursday that they must enroll the children of illegal immigrants despite little or nothing in the way of legitimate documentation concerning how old the kids are or where they live.
Despite all of their reasoning let's get back to point A which is: they entered and are living in this country illegally.

I'm from El Paso Texas and our schools are full of Rich Mexicans that have ran from Juarez Mexico to rent homes in EP. I guess you can't ask if they are illegals. Really smart, they take from the system yet the don't pay into any one of our systems. No wonder states are going broke.

So since I don't have to provide documents to enroll my daughter and I live outside of the better school district does this mean that I can pay taxes in the cheaper county where I live and just enroll her in the better school district? Jack Britt is better than the others around here I hear. Or are they going to discriminate against me because I don't look like I'm illegal to them?

...maybe "Nineteen Minutes" isn't available through the Mexican public school system.

They stopped going across years ago. When I was in school there they never did.
Property Tax is very high from what grieves friends say.
But this is an issue elsewhere, like wishbone said most school don't ask. As long as your address is in the school's zone you can go.

In Tejas the ISDs (Independent School Districts) generally ask for the following to enroll a student:
• Birth certificate
• Last report card
• Social Security Card
• Complete immunization records (date, month and year of every immunization received)
• Proof of residency within the district (e.g., water, electric or gas bill for homeowners or apartment lease with the parent's name)
• Parents/Guardian ID (driver's license, state issued ID or Passport)
• Proof of withdrawal from former school if withdrawal was during the school year
As far as taxes go, the majority of 'illegals' reside in rented housing whose landowners pay the annually assessed school taxes for the district in which the property lies.
I'm not sure what other states require.

Maybe they are supposed to be requiring those documents, butI do know that down here, many, many, of the students cross the border each day as license plates from Tamaulipas are very evident when dropping students off and picking students up. I have seen school buses waiting at the border crossings also.
