Airlines warned about toothpaste bombs

The DHS has issued a warning to U.S. and some foreign airlines traveling to Russia for the Olympic Games to be on the lookout for toothpaste containers, which some intelligence indicates may actually hold ingredients that could be used to construct a bomb aboard a plane, a senior U.S. official told ABC News.

Whilst interesting to us here, this MO is not new and not (IMHO) newsworthy to the public. What's going to happen now is that all the baggage and passenger checkers are going to be so hyper-focused on toothpaste that they'll neglect everything else even more-so than before.
