Book on 'submissive wives' becomes hit in Spain
lololol One of the comments, paraphrased: "How many feminists does it take to screw in a light bulb? ONE, and there's nothing funny about it!" (To be said with a sour expression).
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worl...-in-Spain.html
The book, which was a bestseller in Italy, preaches a message of "loyal obedience, generosity and submission" on the part of the new wife and offers nuggets of advice for the newly-wed on how to please one's husband.
The book currently appears at number 15 on the Amazon bestseller list in Spain but has raised the hackles of modern-minded Senoras who even staged a public demonstration against the tome, where they tore up copies.
Women's groups are considering legal action to get it banned arguing that it promotes gender violence.
One passage suggests: "We [women] like humiliation because it is for a greater good."
The author claims the book is based on the teachings of St Paul and that a perfect wife should be submissive.
"It's true, you're not yet an experienced cook or a perfect housewife," she writes. "What's the problem if he tells you so? Tell him that he is right, that it's true, that you will learn. On seeing your sweetness and your humility, your effort to change, this will also change him.
Granada's Archbishop Francisco Javier Martinez, who chose to publish the book has defended its content and insists that the furore surrounding it is "ridiculous and hypocritical" in a society that allows abortion, which he argues is a much clearer example of violence against women.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion.
(Unless it offends a liberal).
Gabriel Reece released a book last spring expressing similar attitudes and took some heat from liberals.
A former professional athlete and large woman (6'3" 175lbs), they had some difficulty painting her as a shrinking violet.
Some quotes from her:
-"I've always been one of those hardheaded chicks who believe that we're all responsible for our own happiness."
-"to truly be feminine means being soft, receptive, and — look out, here it comes — submissive,”
-"I think the language that men understand and they receive — is through food and through sex."
Somewhere a liberal head is exploding...

It was certainly a hit in my house, I gave it to my wife she thumbed through then promptly hit me with it.

Liberals will condemn a book like this.
Then they will promote "50 Shades of Grey".
Hmmm...

Not to divert, but-is it just me, or do nearly all feminists look like they couldn't get a date with a straight male inmate in San Quentin? Congresswomen, too.
I think women who don't know how to look and be feminine probably lead lonely, bitter lives.

You are so right. I never understood that movement. Here in Latin America women want to be women and they understand that they can do it and control their man usually without him knowing it. I like my girl being feminine, smart and sexy. Se also gets what ever she wants and I am happy to make her happy as she makes me happy.
These women in the anti man suits and their butched up looks does nothing for me. I guess there are enough men out there today that have given up their man hood that like that. To each their own..
Sitting in the airport in panama and boy you can tell the difference between the American women and the Latinas.... I chose Latinas.....

Hmmmm ... Buy the book, tear it up in protest; buy another book, tear it up in protest; repeat.
Sounds like the author is gonna make more money!

B~
IIRC, Yes..You Do!
Personally, my views on the subject would anger most feminazies...
Submissive has many different meanings, IMHO. If a woman loves to cook, clean, and satisfy her man...then what the hell is wrong with that? She is actually smarter in the long run, because in theory, her man will stick with her.... But that's just my opinion....and am picky, so it would have to be the "right" man! If there are any still out there??? LOL.

I come from a large family with mostly girls. The scriptures of St Paul were never heralded very much in my family.
