I wonder about the mindset of the 83 who voted "thumbs down".

If only the 83 knew... The circle of life brings things into perspective with a clarity unobtainable to youth without perspective.
Mine was a guy we called Uncle TED, he was not an uncle nor apparently did he ever mention his service but one shared Thanksgiving, when I was young I asked him about his service...with few words and fewer adjectives he described being an ENGINEER in the first World War, when he was 17. They laid bridges out in front of the Infantry, in the mud. He was one of only a handful that survived in Company E ( under Pershing's Command ), they fought for their lives with anything they could get in their hands. None of us knew this. Later he gave me his helmet, medals and a leather bound book. It corroborated everything he said. God bless those that serve this great country.
