Duke Rape case

The Drudge report is reporting that all charges will be dropped in the next couple of days. It isn't surprising but it still makes me sick to my stomach. Where do these kids go to get their good names back? I hope that DA is dis-barred and sued in civil court for what he did.

What is the penalty for bringing false charges?

How can they recover damages to their reputations, along with the rest of the lacrosse team, and the coach, who was fired?

Can they recover legal fees and expenses required to defend themselves against false charges?

Will they go after Duke, Nifong, the Durham DA, or the complainant, a likely out of work stripper?

How will the lying complainant be punished (if she is)?

Should she be?

On an economics note, what do you think the market is for crazy black strippers in Durham these days?

I would wager that it is pretty good. It is only a matter of time before Hollywood offers her seven figures for the screen rights to her story and how she was used by the DA and how these racist lacrosse players got off scott free.

Aside from the complete travesty and spitting in the face of our justice system, I also have my own concerns. I pay taxes in North Carolina; how much has this BS case cost the state (and me)? The false accuser won't face charges for many reasons that I don't even wish to go into. If Nifong gets sued, who pays? I and my fellow North Carolina taxpayers. This entire affair has been one sick and nasty circumstance.

The professors that blamed the lacrosse players and assumed them guilty never retracted their false accusations, nor did the MSM. Those who did put the retraction on their back pages.

Just like Tawana Brawley.

...those damn lacrosse players were privileged upper crusts. Its ok to let them suffer a little discomfort under the collar.

Strangely, one of the stories I saw about her current legal troubles was definitely delivered as though she was clearly acting in self defense...
...guilty as sin, but the dead guy was painted as the one who caused her violence.
