A Citizen Writes: Background Check For Knife Owners
A satirical comment in today's Indianapolis Star ...
After reading about the campus rampage that occurred at Lone Star Community College, Texas, I am moved to encourage our leaders to begin a national knife registry.
The knife wielded by the 20-year-old man injured at least 14 people. Reasonable laws that restrict the sale of razor-type knives must be implemented at once. We should pass the laws quickly, then find out what is in them.
I urge President Obama to fly to Texas and have the families of these victims stand with him. He should fly those victims and their families to Washington and have them lobby Congress to pass legislation banning these horrible weapons. He should urge quick action on legislation for background checks on people buying knives.
If we can save just one life, we must ban the knife.
