USN - No More Tomahawks
The end of an era...
US Navy Instruction Confirms Retirement of Nuclear Tomahawk Cruise Missile
FAS, 18 Mar 2013
Although the U.S. Navy has yet to make a formal announcement that the nuclear Tomahawk land-attack cruise missile (TLAM/N) has been retired, a new updated navy instruction shows that the weapon is gone.

And so it goes...

No more Tomahawks ????
Maybe I missed it, but the story just says that The Navy is getting ride of just Nuclear tipped Tomahawks, not the whole weapons system itself.
Am I reading that correctly?

We don't need them anymore; the rest of the world is no longer a threat. Our economy is strong, our military is strong, our politicians are well respected, and the rest of the world needs us.
We are too big to fail and that shit costs money that could be used on important social programs.

Pentagon Highlighting Bomber Missions in Korea
Tomahawks are just not capable anymore I guess. Perhaps they are trying to rekindle the Cold War or just go old school. They started by conducting war games modeled after war games of the 50s and 60s...
Pentagon Highlights...
Quote:
The United States is flying nuclear-capable B-52 bombers on training missions over South Korea to highlight Washington's commitment to defend an ally amid rising tensions with North Korea, Pentagon officials said Monday.
Pentagon press secretary George Little said one B-52 flew over South Korea on March 8, and the deputy defense secretary, Ashton Carter, said during a visit to Seoul that another bomber mission is scheduled for Tuesday.
B-52 bombers are capable of launching nuclear-armed cruise missiles, but Little said those participating in the Korean exercise are not armed with nuclear weapons.

Perhaps they should pull a few B-36s out of mothballs at Davis-Monthan to make it real interesting.

George, do me a favor & repeat after me: "It is our policy to neither confirm nor deny the presence or absence of nuclear weapons." Other than that, please zip it.

Nothing like unilateral disarmament in the face of enemy arms races to show our true colors and appease the enemy.
I am sure Kim, Ahmadinejad, Xi Jinping, and Putin are chafing to reciprocally disarm themselves immediately.
