I've got a number of books on SF insignia - not this one...but not sure how much I'd trust a book on the subject when the beret on the front cover is incorrect. Just sayin...

LTC Ian Sutherland's "USA SF 1952-1987" is one of the best references - there are others but mine are all packed right now.

I have spent the last month sleeping on an air mattress in the garage at the ranch out in NorCal as we renovated the place and I mucked/repaired the barns/sheds - now back in Dallas watching the movers load the truck - we leave Sunday and will be in Elk Grove Monday evening - the movers show up to unload Wednesday. There is already snow on the Sierras and ski season begins this weekend, and my wine is waiting to be picked up at Boeger (Placerville) and Gustavo-Thrace (Napa) - eat your hearts out!

We also are moving, but a bit less, 300 miles North, to the Florida Space Coast, Melbourne area.

No wine,, but all the attractions we will need to drag the G-kid into town..

Plus a good VA hospital..

I'm a few miles down the road right now... in Modesto. I'm heading back to San Pedro this afternoon. It was kind of chilly last night here; I needed a blanket. I did have a very nice Cabernet Sauvignon from Sonoma at dinner last night. NorCal is okay!
