Explains the Regular Army - but being a Detachment Commander as a CPT or Team Sergeant as a MSG are the best jobs in the military.

Being on a detachment at any rank is a darn good place to be.

Written by conventional soldiers I'm sure...... In SF the E-8 issue is the other way around. I was asked to become a First Sergeant more than once and said no every time. Does it affect promotion, I'm sure it does but the headaches that go with it were not worth the promo points.
