My Grandfather was a Royal Marine Commando in WW2 with 43 CDO. I have a great pic of him doing the same thing with his guys in Achnacary, Scotland.

Don't have a scanner with me or I'd post it. He was one of the first group to go through the RM Commando Course when they switched over from being Royal Marines to RM Commandos. Very tough lad he was. I've got his Dagger and Beret as well.

I blame the communists up the road.
Anyway, on topic.
The NZ Army doesn't teach hand to gland as far as I know, except for possibly the MP Corps. The SAS might, but I have no idea if they do or not.
I think the closest pic I could find would be that of a bayonet charge.
