Shades of the 60's, I guess I do not see their point. This is an all volunteer force, no draftees in that crowd. They all had choices and no one made them sign on the bottom line or take that oath to defend.

One pictured only has the National Defense Medal....don't they still give that out after boot camp?

After AIT, my son had a larger ribbon rack that I had after 3 years.

What a joke. There will always be 1) those very few who object, and 2) a very few who disgrace the uniform.

I like the photo titled "Police clash with demonstrators..."

It is a shot of a few officers, no clashing at all.

I believe that SF is a 'calling' - not too different from the calling missionaries I know received. I knew instantly that it was for me, and that I would do all I could to achieve it. Most others I know in SF experienced something similar. If, as you say, you HAVE searched and read, and you do not KNOW if this is the path for you --- it is not....
