Clinic in Colombia

Anyone know what clinic the Embassy uses in Colombia. My wife and son are both on tricare down there for a few months.

Don't recall the name itself, I want to say there were two the embassy used. I had to have some dental work done while there and I do recall having to stop by an office in the embassy to do the paperwork, which was minimal and easy. The embassy set everything else up such as sending me to get X-rays from one location/ service provider and the actual dentist who did the work, the two were completly different businesses. The office is on the first floor across from the cafeteria. If they don't want to go in they should be able to call and get the clinic (s) the embassy recommends US pax use.

Spent four years there. The problem with the embassy is that they may allow you in but it will be unlikely that they will allow your wife back there (unless you are a member of the mission or TDY). The embassy clinic (the one inside the embassy) is for embassy sponsored personnel and their family members. I assume that your family is on TRICARE Prime? If you're on TRICARE Prime Latin America, go to this website and it will tell you exactly what to do:

http://www.tricare.mil/tma/tlac/

They should be able to make all the arrangements and tell you what and where the doctor/dentist is located.

I don't know which clinic the embassy uses but I was in Bogota and Manizales in July and came down with an upper respiratory infection and used a pretty decent clinic which was near Calle 60ish and the Septima. PM if you want more specific info I can probably give you a couple of other good recommendations on anything healthcare related since I have one sister-in-law who is an MD (Pediatrician) and the other is a dentist and about 5 cousin-in-laws who are MDs (various specialities) in the Bogota area. All that being said, you really want to use a private clinic and you'll find their private practices on-par and in some cases better then what you'll find in many places here in the States.

The "latest" .PDF provider sheet that the Embassy has hung on their site. I would think that they probably have something more current if you contact them.

Here are the Tricare Overseas links for finding providers in any country:

And Colombia-specific information link:
