Thumbs down FT BRAGG HS SHOOTING

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Authorities say a 15-year-old student was shot and wounded at a North Carolina high school. No arrests have been made, and no gun has been recovered.

Cape Fear High School just outside Fayetteville was placed on lockdown Monday and parents told to stay away until the scene is cleared by law enforcement. Neighboring Mac Williams Middle School was also locked down for a time before students were released at 2:45 p.m.

Sheriff Earl "Moose" Butler said a female student was shot in the neck with what appeared to be a small-caliber bullet. She has been taken to a nearby hospital. Butler says no suspects have been arrested.

Assistant Superintendent Theresa Perry says parents would be advised later in the afternoon as to when they could pick up their children.

Eastover

Eastover - the "other" side of the Cape Fear River. Mostly rural, scattered older small communities, rural home sites and scattered subdivisions of double wides and upscale single family homes.

The HS is about 1/2 between I-95 and Stedman.

Could have resulted from anything.

yeah i heard about this today as well. gota love fayetteville. Then again, i guess every town has its hot-spots. Im here on TDY and one of my fellow students was jumped at walmart by about 3 gang members doing their intiation. Luckily my buddy has a CCW and was carrying, drew on them after they jumped him, and they all ran off. No shots fired.

Fayetteville, NOT Bragg.

There is no high school on post.

Ft. Bragg has NOTHING to do with this.

An updated FayOb story that gives a little more details. The info about the lockdown and lack of information flowing to the parents trying to get to the school to pick up their kids is interesting. The kids texting info out to their parents and friend.

"A 15-year-old girl was shot in the neck Monday while standing in a courtyard at Cape Fear High School, prompting a lockdown of two campuses while dozens of lawmen searched for hours for a shooter.

Late Monday, the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office said it had taken into custody two students who deputies believe were responsible for the single shot that wounded Catilyn Abercrombie......................."
