First, a custom bolt action rifle made anywhere is pretty different from a standard issued Dragunov.

Second, lots of claims in the video which I have my doubts on.

Third, nice going in the end, sitting in front of the muzzle with no ear protection, say hi to tinnitus..

Gotta wonder what message they are sending when the ONLY shot filmed at impact (1:06) is high to the left by a very large margin..

yep, izhmash makes world class biathlon bolt rifle. Of course, that is .22 and the same technology/tight tolerance may or may not transfer to high power. Well, there's the SV-98.

Russia's most entertaining contribution to popularizing firearms.

http://www.youtube.com/user/FPSRussia

If used as a DMR the Dragunov is perfectly adequate; if used in the precision fire role, just about anything else is an improvement. As Frostfire notes - the Russians produce some quality .22s. I'm sure the high power bolt guns are at least as good; after all, the Russians are serious competitors whenever they play.

A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.
