GOP Duped by Radical Left-Winger in Redistricting Process
Shuns Concerns of Supporters While Defending Appointment

The North Carolina GOP denied claims that it had hired a left-wing radical to be involved with redistricting. The website My NC Senate , which is registered to the North Carolina GOP, called the
original commentary a "retread" of the press release cited. They also added that the claim of them hiring a La Raza member was "inaccurate" stating that the information was "incomplete," and can be viewed on their Twitter stream. The individual in question is Matty Lazo-Chadderton. In a redistricting meeting she has flatly denied being a member of La Raza. She either lied or was not aware of whom she worked for. And now the GOP is on record defending this lie and attacking their own supporters. The initial commentary was left "incomplete" so they would continue to do just that; and they have.

The Southwest Voter Registration and Education Project (SVREP) is the "get out vote" arm of the National Council of La Raza. Lazo-Chadderton was (and could still be) their North Carolina chairperson as stated on its website. According to The City University of New York's Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society their reportLatinos and the Development of the Community, "The attack by Democrats forced Ford [Foundation] to insist that the council [National Council of La Raza] distance itself from partisan political affiliations. To conform to the law's requirements a voter registration effort [Southwest Voter Registration and Education Project (SVREP)] was created."

In the next paragraph: "The success of the SVREP still left La Raza with serious challenges" and to settle the tensions the Ford Foundation immediately gave La Raza another $1.3 million grant right after establishing the SVREP. La Raza, MALDEF, and SVREP are one in the same. They even all have the same co-founder; Julian Samora. Not a claim made by the author but rather a convenient public fact via The University of Notre Dame.

azo-Chadderton and state Sen. Bob Rucho now need to answer their supporters whom initially raised concern. Especially since Antonio Gonzalez of the SVREP has said, "You have to look ahead and strategically
deploy your assets" in an article entitled "Famed Latino group gears up to influence 2011 redistricting process." Gonzalez states the goal is to redraw the lines so they have districts that they "can control." He rallies Latinos in the name of power and uses their culture as the foundation. Notice in the article only Democrats are present. The results of their "successes" are outlined by Eliseo Solis. They pushed for Latino representation, and they became worse off because they ended up with Democrats; not Latinos. Lazo-Chadderton is not only a Democrat precinct party chairperson but also affiliated with SVREP/La Raza. The NC GOP has selected her to be involved in the redistricting process. Why? What is more troubling is their efforts to silence their supporters rather than research the issue.

While the Ford Foundation played a pivotal role in the creation of La Raza and it's many "issue specific" arms, they are not the only heavy-hitting non-profit to be interested in redistricting. Actually, there is a whole network. It is called the Funder's Committee and the list contains those funds with the largest assets. Their work is currently focused on redistricting. A current report , "The National Summary File of Redistricting Data", shows just how interested these non-profits are. However, reports are not enough and can be rather boring when mobilizing the youth. The Funder's Committee also paid to have a redistricting video game made. While redistricting may seem like a non-issue to most, the big players don't see it that way.

Well, it is NC. The NC Republican establishment, except for a couple here and there - are a bunch of lightweights. Like children, they need adult supervision.

The Dims are the party of big government activism that says government can make you richer, smarter, taller, and keep the dandelions out of your front yard. The Repugs are the party that claims government doesn't work...then get themselves elected to prove it.
