warning about red scorpion six

tried to order a knife from this sight.
six weeks later after multiple stalls he tells me that he is having trouble mailing to an FPO (navy base in Africa)
from a sight that deals in mostly military gear, kind of weak.

of course he had no problem charging my card right away. luckily the card company removed the charge just as fast.

Just a heads up that they may be correct. You can not send knives to certain countries. This is normally outline in the USPS International Mail manual.

We ship all over the world and have to consult the IMM on a weekly basis.

not trying to start an argument, just trying to pass on a bad experience with an unprofessionally run company. having said that....

an FPO is the same as an APO. and if you are going to sell military gear (lots of multi cam stuff on his sight) then you cannot tell me that you do not know how to ship to a military address.

Also, and his hemming and hawing started after six weeks of delay because he "had to make sheath's".

FWIW Red Scorpion Six was banned from one of the largest online knife forums for "persistent spamming and dishonesty", to quote a moderator. It appears to be the same individual as the one on the knife forum; he was the "maker" of the WSK knife which is referred to in the 'About Us' part of the RS6 website.

Having lived for the last 14 years at an APO/FPO address and playing every game from vendors he probably does not want to get off his ass and go down to the post office. An APO or FPO is going to US location and is not International mail as if you were sending something to a French/German/Saudi/etc address in regular mail. Most today want to use click and ship and that system is usually way off with APO/FPO's.... Go into a USPS office and they take it....

Completely different....... The APO or FPO can limit types of Items but USPS goes with their rules that have been set up with the military. Never seen a restriction on Knifes on any APO/FPO..... I have also received a bunch through the APO..... No foreign customs to fight.....

Just my 2 cents

Each country has customs regulations that apply to all incoming mail. These may include prohibitions on certain kinds of food or entertainment products. Military units may also have additional restrictions imposed by the unit commanders, such as those on size and weight, to ensure logistics support can handle the mail along with other necessities. The maximum length of a package in any category is 72 inches. In addition, Military ZIP Code™ restrictions may be revised as military units move to different locations. While there are specific restrictions for each five-digit military (APO/FPO) Post Office™ area, generally speaking, it is prohibited to mail the following:

· Aerosol cans
· Firearms
· Flammable materials
· Liquids and powders
· Lottery tickets
· Poisons
· Alcohol and liquor
· Ammunition
· Drug paraphernalia
· Fireworks and other explosives

There are countries that do not allow knives to be shipped through the USPS. 99.09% of the time a package requires a customs form or the USPS will not accept it. There are some exceptions however. Packages shipped to an APO from a non governmental agency are also subject to host country customs.
