Is it as hot there?

Is it as hot where you live as it is in Texas right now?

I'm at the Ft. Hood airport waiting for my flight, and the past few days have been especially brutal. My son in law is out at the E.F.M.B. site, baking in the sun and trying to earn the badge. I took a drive out Nolan Road (we did laundry for the boys and were allowed to make a live drop, with a few extra goodies tucked into the laundry bags when we returned) and when I stepped out it was the heat of Somalia with the humidity of Honduras. Texas is supposed to be "dry heat" isn't it?

DFW is DRY compared to the Coast!! When you get out past Abilene things get VERY DRY. It's High Plains Desert out there. Where we do our Machinegun Shoots, due South of the I10 and I20 merge point, down close to the Boarder it's around 5000 ft field elevation. You can drink beer all day long and not even get a buzz because it evaporates out of you as fast as you drink it!!

My corporate office is in Ft. Worth. The other day one of the guys told me he looked out into the courtyard and someone put a small frying pan outside on a bench...with an egg in it.

That reminds me, he never told me if it cooked.
