What an effort tonight by the Red, White and Blue. It was a great way to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Miracle on Ice. Miller was outstanding. I also think Jamie Langenbrunner really led the way with his work ethic. It was a great effort by our captain.
Way to go USA. Keep the run going to the gold.

NBC
NBC, "Nothing But Curling".
Very poor coverage of most other events.

NBC (non-cable) just showed the LAST 30 SECONDS of this game, breaking away from its regular coverage of ice skating and bobsledding to do so.

I was there, well almost. Went to the RUS-CZE game but could not get tickets for the CAN-USA game -- they were going for 1500 a piece in the cheap seats! Prices did not drop after game started -- they sold that high.
I took LOTS of flak walking around in my Team USA jersey. If there were lots of Americans there, they were disguised in Team Canada gear. Needless to say, it was a pleasure listening to the hysterical callers on Vancouver sports radio after the game.

Nope. That was a bunch of kids who beat a bunch of pros. It will always remain a miracle. Now it's basically an all star NHL team with Olympic logos.

How about Brian Rafalski - unreal. A defenseman scoring four consecutive goals for us with another coming off a deflection from his slapshot that was so slight you couldn't tell w/o slowing down the tape. There should have been hats on the ice.
The better goalie, staying out of the box, skating and fore-checking harder - we did everything right.
Hope Canada at least places though - they got this game started.
Keep it up USA - you can bring it home.

Sickening... The only other winter event that does anything for me is curling and thats wishing I was at the range. On the bright side you missed NHL commissioner Bettman talking.

There were a bunch of Canadians (or wannabes) in the bar, and when the USA won, someone put on the jukebox the theme from Team America. Having the entire bar yelling, "AMERICA, FUCK YEAH!" at the Canadians was hilarious.
