Ryan Seacrest's Stalker Not Special Forces
Reservist arrested for stalking Ryan Seacrest
Army says alleged stalker is not a Green Beret, as sites have reported
By Tony Lombardo - Staff writer
Posted : Monday Nov 2, 2009 17:26:51 EST
Ryan Seacrest’s alleged stalker is an Army Reservist, Army spokesman Lt. Col. Nathan Banks confirmed Monday.
But Sgt. Chidi Uzomah, Jr., is not the Special Forces expert that entertainment Web site, TMZ, was reporting as of Monday evening.
Uzomah was arrested Friday after reportedly trying to sneak into E! Entertainment Television offices in California while carrying a knife. News reports also say Uzomah visited Seacrests’s radio station in Burbank, Calif.
Banks said Uzomah is a member of the Army Reserve’s 426th Civil Affairs Battalion in California. He served in the Californa Army National Guard from Arpil 2005 to April 2009. He was discharged to the Individual Ready Reserve until August 2009, when he took a voluntary reassignment to the Reserve.
Uzomah has never been deployed and has no awards or decorations, Banks said.
Banks said it’s too early to tell whether the Army would get involved in the case.
Banks, TMZ’s source in the news story, took issue with some the Web site’s reporting. Banks said he did not apologize to Seacrest on behalf of the Army, as TMZ indicates in its coverage.
“I’m sorry for what had happened to Mr. Seacrest, but the Army would not get involved until the civilian process has taken place,” Banks said.
TMZ also claims that Uzomah has the skills of a Green Beret, but Banks said his training would have focused more on peacekeeping.

LOLOL morons.
Hey TMZ how would you know if the individual "had the skills of a Green Beret? Seem youz getting your "Green Beret" advice from Paris Hilton?
This website never even heard of the guy.....
We do get requests from hollywierd producers wanting to know if someone is in fact a "former" Green Beret. Happened just last week, and the guy they were looking at was indeed a fraud.
FYI

The big problem with this thread is "Just who the hell is Ryan Seacrest?"
Everybody just assumes people know who Ryan Seacrest is. I would hope Ryan was a female - otherwise - don't ask don't tell.
OOPPS - just saw the picture - don't ask - don't tell.

Has Ryan Seacrest had a starring role on his own? Of course, that's sour grapes from me, a guy who sits behind a desk all day.
Still, you have to wonder what dirt he has on Hollywood. No one is that lucky.

One man's stalker is another man's date. When I saw that he had a stalker, I just assumed it was Simon Cowell. Lots of tension between those two.

Guy's sure got that stone cold look...or maybe he's just having one of those RV conversations with ol' Glenn and his gang of Hawaiian goat herders.
And so it goes...
Richard's $.02

This has got to be one of the most pathetic (and gay) stories I've ever read. The closest this (gay) Army man has gotten to the "Green Berets" is a picture of Sylvester Stallone that's hanging over his bed.
And since when does the Army apologize for non-active duty "civilians"?
Hey TMZ who the hell told you this individual was an "Infantryman" and a front line soldier??
Looks more like a (gay) crack addict to me.
TMZ should be the ones apologizing the the Army Special Forces aka the "Green Berets" for mentioning us in the same story as a gay crack-head.

Seacrest Alleged Stalker -- Army Infantryman
Posted Nov 2nd 2009 2:22PM by TMZ Staff
UPDATE: TMZ just spoke with Lt. Col. Nathan Banks, an Army spokesperson, who told us: "We apologize to Ryan Seacrest. Pending the outcome of the local investigation, the Army will decide what further action to take. We take all matters of our personnel seriously."
Ryan Seacrest's alleged stalker is scarier than first thought -- we've learned he has serious military training.
Chidi Uzomah, Jr. is currently in the Army Reserves in Upland, California. He was trained as a front line soldier and assigned to the 426th Civil Affairs Battalion -- a part of the Army special forces, which is attached to the Green Berets.
Before Uzomah's gig in the 426th, he served in the California Army National Guard from April 2005 through April 2009. He was honorably discharged and then transferred to the Army Reserves.
Uzomah was an ROTC Cadet at Cal State Dominguez Hills.

Pathetic.
Newspapers, which are supposed to have the facts, and then have someone who checks the facts,of stories, can never get even the simplest of details right. And it isn't just this story, the "Facts" are always screwed up.
It looks like even newspapers need a Military Advisor
