Lawyers to replace lab rats

The Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta announced that effective January 1, 2010 lawyers will replace laboratory rats in medical research funded by the U.S. government. CDC spokesperson James Flynn explained the CDC decision came after a lengthy study and the reasons were threefold to favor lawyers over the use of rats. Flynn said,

First, there's more of them;
Second, there's very little risk that researchers will beomce emotionally attached to their subjects; and,
Third, there are some things that a rat just won't do.

Unfortunately, this excludes any future research on spines, guts or hearts.

Present company excluded, of course.

So I guess we will have to re-think immunizations for lab workers. They will just be at higher risk of catching something worse if they are bitten.
