Looking for a Mentor/Helper
Hi all, I've made Special Forces my goal because I fell in love with its mission and motto five years ago through some serious soul searching. In short, I still believe that it is the most fitting vehicle I can use to make full use of my talents to make a positive difference in this world. I believe that my in depth language and cultural insights will be an asset as an 18F.
As I have mentioned in my introduction, I couldn't enlist because I was diagnosed with bipolar 1 disorder. However, I have been relentless in working on healing my condition and improving myself ever since. I've been practicing meditation and internal martial arts for a year now, and it's been promising as a way to mitigate my condition as well as improving myself overall. My current job and living situation requires me to deal with various emergency situations, sometimes life or death. I proved myself to be extremely calm and effective when under such conditions.
I am talking to people who have the same kind of condition as I have, who have successfully weened off of medication through the same type of meditation that I practice. I have also talked to special operations operators who have bipolar 1, so I know it is possible. I am 26, I have 4 more years to start training. I was wondering if anyone here can possibly provide me some direction and advice from time to time in my journey. If in the end, whether or not I make it, I intend further the SF mission in everything that I do, and your friendship and support will help and be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for everything.
