TS, I have some photos/video from part 1 of the MSG Young mission. Will get more and post on the site.

Gents, for those of you who are unable to attend. At 1400hrs (EST) raise a tasty cold beverage in honor of Mitch. You may not be with us in the flesh, but all are with us in spirit.

Mitch Young Patriot Guard Riders Mission Report

Part 3 Final Ride Report

02 Aug 08
Over 100 Riders and 20 cages escorted MSG Young, his family and friends from Charlie Mike's Pub through Fayetteville to the Special Forces Association (SFA) Compound. This was truly spectacular to see and mere words cannot possibly begin to describe MSG Mitch Young's Final Ride. In the procession was Mitch's bike ridden by his son-in-law, and Mitch's wife rode with one of Mitch's former teammates. The lead bike flew the US Flag that Mitch had carried on many training and combat deployments as well as his team guidon for ODA 7126.

SFA National Headquarters and SFA Chapter 1-18 went out of their way to support this mission, and cannot be thanked enough for their support of our Special Forces Warriors and their families. Charlie Mike's Pub and accomplices who planned this event went over the top and did an outstanding job.

Upon completion of the ride, the beer and food was ready and we all commenced to Celebrating Mitch's life. Many a toast was raised to Mitch and our fallen Special Forces Brethren. In honor of our Special Forces Soldiers who have gone before us, two bottles of Reutberg Beer were toasted and poured into the SFA pond so that they may share in the occasion.

My sincere thanks to all the new members, first time mission attendees, my Special Forces Brothers, and all the DOD Active Duty and Retirees who supported this mission.

This concludes this mission.

De Oppresso Liber !!

I would like to give a big thumb's up to the Patriot Guard riders for a job well done. I was in a vehicle in all three processions ( to Silver Ramp, to the JFK chapel, and to the SFA compound ) and the did an outstanding job! Thanks, guys!

Also a big thumb's up to Stras here for everything he has done for our fallen Brother. On top of the Patriot Guard duties, due to unforseen circumstances he, myself, and Michelle of Charlie Mike's ended up trying to coordinate everything for the Final Ride and Celebration of Life at the very last minute, and Stras went way out of his way for this and made everything run smoothly. Thanks, Brother!

Mitch Remembered

I was deployed with Mitch in 2002 and I was shocked to hear this. I have a lot of memories of him in just 6 months time. He definately added humor to any situation and made the deployment go just a little faster.

God Bless and my prayers are with his family and friends.
